Life Is Partly What We Make It.. And Partly What Is Made By The Friends We Choose! - Tehyi Hsieh

I received a package in the mail today that truly made my week! It was from my good friend Jackie from Morgan. Inside the package were some "treasures." This plaque was so cute and truly describes me to the letter. It says "I am only as strong as the caffeine I drink, the hairspray I use, and the girl friends I have!" Yep - that is me! For those of you who know me at all you will know that I love a good Diet Mtn. Dew (I'm working on it :o) ) But most of all I CHERISH my friendships. I have been so - so - so - so blessed with good friends. Good friends who make me want to be a better person, who look past all of my little/big faults and love me anyway! I KNOW that friendships can change a persons life - because my friends have truly changed mine. Heavenly Father knew that there were times that I could not handle some of life's trials alone ... so he sent me the friends that I have. I am so grateful! So to all of my friends old and new - thank you for being examples to me and for making my life a happy one. I love you! Thank you Jackie for making me smile today!!!

Happy Birthday Colton

We had Coltons 11th birthday party tonight. The boys had so much fun! We are so lucky to have met such awesome people here. Colton has been blessed with wonderful friends who are just truly good kids!

Gavin and his dad :o) gave Colton Heelys. He was so excited to try them out. Poor guy is just not that coordinated. Here he is getting lessons from his good friend Brian. Yes - he is wearing a helmet - Don't judge me. :o)
Colton was so spoiled. Thank you to all the moms and dads who got Colton the coolest gifts ever. He really was so happy!

Naked Cowboy

I know that lately this blog has been dedicated to Porter. I should change the name to "Porters Happenings." It is just that he is in a phase where he is always doing something funny. So forgive the endless postings of Porter's silliness. These are just things that I want to remember. Nothing like watching Dora - on your horse - in the nude??? Think it's time to potty train??

STOP IT ......... Did I just see a Box Elder Bug?

For those of you who are going "WHAT IN THE HECK IS SHE TALKING ABOUT" Here is a little bit of back ground info. Back home in Morgan there were these awesome (not) little bugs called Box Elder Bugs. I HATED them! They were everywhere and you could never - ever kill them. I came to the conclusion that they had a protective force field around them.

When I moved to Idaho Falls I was unpacking and a dead one fell on my floor. Oh BOY - I cried and cried because I missed my home. Yes - I know - sooooooo pathetic! Anyways, the other day all of a sudden these little bugs started coming around - and then there were a million of them everywhere. I had to take a double take - "Did my Morgan bug friends follow me here?" Nope - they must be distant cousins. So to my Morgan friends who are fighting the good old Box Elder. I want you to know I'm still with ya - fighting the Alabama love bug. :o)

Ok so Porter was "washing" his hair this morning with vaseline. Oh YUCK!!! I've tried everything to get it out - hence Porter's smiling face! We've tried shampoo, dawn, and dial soap. Any ideas???

Life Changing Quote

"Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle"
I read this quote and have been thinking about it a couple of days now. It is definitely something that could change lives. It is something I am going to strive to do. Battles come is so many different forms - each one a struggle for the ones who are fighting it. We may never know how a simple act of kindness may affect someone in the midst of their own "personal battle," but I am certain that it can change lives. Not just for the ones receiving kindness but for the ones giving as well.
I have friends who are my personal heroes because they are masters of being kind. Friends who will pack up their newborn baby and drive to my house because she had a "feeling" that I was having a hard time. Since that time I have known without a shadow of a doubt that no matter what - I have someone who without question would drop everything for me. That has been a life changer for me. Friends who would drive across the country with a car full of children just to see me for a few days. Friends who become like moms because they treat you just like one of their own. Friends who cry with you when you cry, only because it hurts them to see you sad. I have truly been blessed - far beyond what I deserve and I am so grateful!

Replay - First Day Of School

Here is little Porter on his way to Preschool. This really is not his first day of school but the pictures that I took on his REAL first day did not save to the memory card :o( - Oh well. I can't believe how fast time flies. He is still a baby to me.
