I have learned so much from my kids. It seems like every time I turn around I am amazed at what strong and wonderful people they are. It is always amazing to me that they are turning out to be such amazing little boys despite my shortcomings as a mother.
Today
Kaden had to do a report on the Gila Monster. After doing a presentation in front of the class the kids wrote questions on a piece of paper to give to him. One of the questions came from a little girl asking if the Gila Monster could kill a human. Somewhere in this question she took the Lords name in vain.
Kaden wrote back with the answer to her question and then wrote "PS - please don't take the Lords name in vain."
As he was telling me this story I was shocked. It must have taken great courage to write that.
Apparently the little girl wrote him back apologizing and said that she knew she shouldn't have said what she did. I was glad to hear that all things ended on a happy note.
Kaden was so impressed with the way the little girl handled his note. He kept saying, "she is a really good girl mom, she said she was sorry, and that means she repented." What good kids!!!!
This story brought back so many memories of me as a teenager being absolutely mortified by my little sisters correcting others bad language or reprimanding a smoker. I could not help but smile at all the memories. I love the fact that children are so honest and so innocent. Through their eyes things are right or wrong and we should always choose right. Maybe more of us need to hold on to that attribute a little longer than we do.
