Indy

We have a new addition to our family!!! This is Indy our new puppy. He really is not a puppy - as you can tell - he is a boxer about two years old - I think?.?.?.?..... Our neighbors across the street have a boxer that Colton has been in love with. He has always wanted one of his own. Our opportunity came when a family in our ward finished flight school and could not take him with them. I think they were sad to let him go - but hopefully can find some comfort in knowing he is well loved.
He is absolutely amazing with the kids. He loves them! I am loving that he is already crate trained and potty trained along with some other fun tricks. I highly recommend adopting an older dog :O).
I'll post more pictures of him later with the other boys - they love him!

This is just a quick little something that I thought was funny so I wanted to write it down so I remember it.

The other day Porter went out with me to get the mail. I figured he was right behind me following me back into the house. I looked and he was half way down the street running his little head off chasing two teenage boys on skate boards. I could hear him screaming "Hey - you're so cool - you're so cool! You are a great tricker!" The boys probably not knowing quite what to do with their little fan club stopped and said - "Hey thanks buddy." (they were nice boys) He just kept saying, "you re a great tricker!" So the boys did a few of their skateboard tricks and went on their way. Porter clapped and clapped and thought they were just as he suspected "very cool!" I got to carry home a little 3 year old boy screaming "you're so cool" until we were in the house. WOW!!!!

Kadens Birthday

Yesterday Kaden turned 8 years old. I can hardly believe it. I absolutely hate how fast time flies by. I am just so grateful that for now he is still a mama's boy and will let me snuggle him.

Kaden will get baptized in about 3 weeks when my sisters and parents can come. So that will be his really big party - so for now we just had a small celebration. He requested sausage and mini pancakes for breakfast and his for dinner he wanted to go to the Chinese Buffet. Thank you to Heather for bringing your family along.

So the birthday boy is going through a small phase where every single time I try to take his picture he makes some sort of freaky weird face. It is driving his mother crazy!!! I am so grateful to have Kaden in our home. He is such a good boy - always trying to do what is right. I love his little jokes and his silliness and his happy attitude. We love you Kaden so much! Happy Birthday! I tried to pick out some pictures that say the most about the person Kaden is. We think he is pretty great!!!!
Always looking out for Porter. He is such a good brother!

Taking his dads dare to put on his costume from about 4 years ago - he did end up completing the dare by skipping to the end of the street singing the Winnie The Pooh song - he is so silly!Kaden is not a quick moving little guy. He has his own pace with lots of rests :) We Love You!!!!

Dads Day Off

The past few weeks Dave has been super - super busy at work. He has not been able to be home very much and when he is home he is - off limits - because he has to study. Saturday we decided that it was time to spend some time together as a family. We asked the kids what they wanted to do and they decided that they wanted to first, go to a Chinese restaurant and then second, go hiking. So that is what we did and we had so much fun!

We hiked on a couple of the training trails here at Fort Rucker. We came across this big wall. Boys being boys would not stop until they had climbed it. So we spent a good hour sitting at the wall while they climbed and climbed and climbed until they conquered the wall.

This picture of Porter is so funny. He would run straight at the wall and just throw his entire body into it.

Of course no day would be complete without going to watch the Apaches. :O)
